I Hate Mosquitoes

I honestly think Minnesota has a different breed of mosquitoes, not so distantly related to Pteradactyls.  I worry one will carry Rae off and that we will all be anemic before the first frost (which I am told often happens in August and that is just weird).

Things have been pretty uneventful for our second week up here.  I am feeling a bit abandoned though.  Robert left out really early Sunday morning for Independence, KS.  Luckily the kids and I plan to stick close to Babbitt.

The past month finally caught up to me because I felt like crud all day Tuesday and most of of Wednesday.  I did feel up to going to services and I'm glad we were able to.  The lesson was great and it was nice to be able to visit.  The girls finally got to meet Hope, she is 9, so she is right between my girls in age.  The three of them buddied up very quickly:)

Luckily Robert only has to be gone for one week and should be home by Saturday.  This is the first time in four years that we've been able to spend his birthday together.  He just wants to stay home and relax which sounds perfect to me.  I made a gluten free lasagna, using zucchini instead of noodles and lime cheesecake for dessert.

Hopefully things will continue to move along smoothly and I really hope to start getting us into a decent routine next week.  I'm anxious to start hiking on the trails and working on getting back in shape.

Robert was not at all impressed with the heat in Kansas and several of his co workers had never been out of the Minnesota area, so needless to say they will appreciate the highs in the mid 80's and no humidity here a little more when they get home.  They don't believe me that it has been a pretty mild summer down south so far.  People  in Minnesota have no clue what heat is, we haven't broke 90 degrees and they have extreme heat warnings airing on the radio.

Hopefully by next week my computer will be fixed so I can post pictures:)

  1. LOL. I love the mosquito/pterodactyls line. Just start working more garlic into your meals. I hear it's a good natural repellent. Love ya, Sis. Kisses to everybody.
